Paul is keen to make specialist cars affordable by incorporating a range of semi-specialist cars, including the Mini, the VW Beetle and the Audi TT, beautifully designed and well-built cars at affordable prices.
Born in Sunderland, Paul's first job at the age of five was selling petrol from a forecourt on Ryehope Road, Sunderland. From here, a career in sales and a love of cars led to a position working for Sir Peter Vardy in 1985. Paul cut his teeth in volume car sales before graduating to the specialist cars division two years later.
Four years ago, encouraged by one of his clients, Paul set up his own specialist car company working from his spare room at home. Later he opened a private viewing showroom in Sunderland, visited by appointment only, before graduating to his showroom at Mill Hill, Peterlee.
When asked why he chose Peterlee, Paul says: "The proximity to the A19 and the fact it was a stand-alone motor retail outlet away from other dealers were the main reasons for choosing the premises. The first question people often ask is, why Peterlee? The answer is easy: why not?"
Paul believs the greatest challenge in the specialist car market are selecting the appropriate stock, finding premises and getting the company's name known.
